Meet our moderators for GYSS 2026:
Dr Cheong is Vice Provost for Strategic Research Partnerships in Singapore Management University, Senior Adviser for Health Economics at Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH), and Chair of the Board Oversight Committee of Advanced Cell Therapy and Research Institute of Singapore (ACTRIS). Previously, as Deputy Secretary (Technology) at MOH, Dr Cheong deployed technology against COVID-19, and developed the health research and innovation ecosystem to achieve Healthier SG (i.e. population health, precision health and preventive health).
Professor Lisa Ng is the current Executive Director of A*STAR's Infectious Diseases Labs, where she manages the overall strategic direction of key initiatives. She also serves as Executive Director of the Biomedical Research Council, where she is involved with talent management and strategic initiatives. Prof Ng is a SNAS (Singapore National Academy of Sciences) 2022 fellow, and an exclusively elected member of the prestigious Henry Kunkel society for immunologists of human diseases.
Professor Simon Chesterman is David Marshall Professor of Law and Vice Provost (Educational Innovation) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he is also the founding Dean of NUS College. He serves as Senior Director of AI Governance at AI Singapore and Editor of the Asian Journal of International Law. Previously, he was Dean of NUS Law from 2012 to 2022 and Co-President of the Law Schools Global League from 2021 to 2023.
Professor Tulika Mitra is the Dean of the School of Computing and Vice Provost (Academic Affairs) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She is a Provost’s Chair Professor in the Department of Computer Science and previously served as Vice Provost (Academic Affairs) from 2021 to 2025. Her research has established foundational methodologies in hardware-software co-design of computing systems, with a particular focus on energy-efficient accelerator architectures.
